Our Story

How Settled started.

"Sometimes the sheets don't get changed on time. I got tired of smelling it — so I fixed it."

The Problem

Most linen sprays on the market are theater. A pretty bottle, a vague fragrance, and a base of isopropyl alcohol that smells like a hospital for ninety seconds after you spray it. You pay $40 and get a tiny amount of something you don't really love.

I went looking for an alternative — something quiet, clean, and actually pleasant to spend the night with — and couldn't find one I trusted. Every label was either a paragraph of unpronounceable chemistry or three vague words designed to sell on vibes alone.

So I made my own. Not as a side project, but as a refusal to accept that the air around your bed should be an afterthought.

Why I Made My Own

I wanted a bedroom spray that smelled like a room I'd actually want to fall asleep in. Clean, calm, with a real fragrance — not a synthetic guess at what 'fresh linen' means to a marketing team.

I wanted to know exactly what was in it. Five ingredients, all cosmetic grade, all on the label. No proprietary fragrance blends, no surprise preservatives, no hiding behind the word 'parfum.'

And I wanted the price to make sense. $14 for 2oz of something honestly better than what I was being sold for double.

What Settled Is

A water-based linen and sleep spray. The base is purified water and 200-proof denatured grain ethanol — the same alcohol used by professional fragrance houses. Polysorbate 20 binds the fragrance oil so nothing pools or stains your sheets. A skin-safe fragrance oil carries the scent. A small amount of preservative keeps it shelf-stable.

That's it. Five ingredients. The whole formula fits on the back of the bottle without shrinking the type.

Every bottle is hand-poured, filled, and labeled in our Los Angeles studio. Amber glass to protect the oils from UV. A fine-mist atomizer so a couple of pumps cover a whole pillow without soaking it. The kind of small details you only obsess over when you're the one using it every night.

Settled isn't a product line yet — it's a standard. One scent done properly, before anything else gets added to the shelf.

The Ritual

We don't think of sleep as a function to optimize. We think of it as a room you walk into — and the smell of that room matters as much as the sheets, the light, and the silence.

Two sprays on the pillow, thirty seconds for the alcohol to lift off, then climb in. That small pause is the entire point. A signal to your body that the day is closed.

Where This Is Going

Settled started with one spray. The ambition is bigger.

Our goal is to become a premier sleep brand — a small, carefully chosen line of products that all serve the same moment: the half-hour before you fall asleep. Linen sprays, pillow mists, room essences, and the quieter, considered objects that belong on a nightstand. Every release will hold to the same standard the first bottle does — short ingredient list, cosmetic-grade only, made in Los Angeles, priced like something you'd actually buy twice.

We're building toward partnerships with boutique hotels, independent wellness studios, and the kind of stockists who care what's inside the bottle. Growth, but not at the cost of the thing that makes Settled worth picking up in the first place.
